The first NMM Warjack of the year. I am quite happy with the way this one came out as it gives me a bench mark for future Nmm work. I am working on the second Kodiak this week, in between various solos (such as the Manhunter). I decided to pay more attention to the base works by adding scenic snow and leaf litter to the original resin base I picked up in 2004

After hours getting stressed messing around with Blogger, I have decided to take affirmative action. You will notice the site going through many changes with images vanishing and appearing over the next few days.
I aim to get the new format up and running by the weekend.
Thanks for reading,
I dealt with most of the issues at hand, the galleries will get a overhaul towards the weekend to prevent disrupting visits to the blog.
Not quite new but part of the 2010 repaints I intended for Warmachine MKII. The Grey Lord Ternion were great models to paint and a good set of figures for me to re-learn some of what I have lost over the last 6 years out of painting. The overall quality is a little better than my old work but there are visible areas where I have lost my edge such as skin. It is nice getting so much practice with NMM, the reoccurring theme for 2010's Khador repaints.

The last two weeks have been very busy for me with the new Citadel table en route and a brand new Battlefoam bag. These items will be reviewed with photos in the coming weeks.

I have to say I am not one for computer games these days, outside of strategy games there is very little I find my self interested enough to play on a regular basis as I would rather roll some dice. However throw in the Warhammer 40,000 mythos and that is another story. I still have fond memories of Space Hulk on the Amiga right the way up to the current game franchise of Dawn of War 2. Last year THQ (the primary company using Games Workshop licenses) are extending their product to the console in the form of "Space Marine". Below is the current trailer for the game and I have to admit, I am impressed; especially by the Marine smashing through a concrete barricade to get to an Ork!
The game looks to be a platform based shooter/slasher with plenty of opportunity to pour bolter fire into greenskins as there are opportunities to put them to the (chain) sword. Of course the major question on most people's minds is "Whats the multi-play content like?" and "Do I have to play Ultramarines?". It would be a shame if this game was limited to a single player format and I hope that online play is something THQ have factored in for sustained interest, time will tell however.
Space Marine is probably scheduled for a autumn release on the Xbox 360.

May was a very busy month with the launch of the 14th Legion Blog and June is looking to be just as hectic. Last month I showed a few works in progress shots of my Heresy era Death Guard army and discussed other potential figures/armies I would be adding to my collection throughout this year. The Death Guard received further reinforcements this morning in the form of Forge World's Plague Hulk. I only got a quick peek at it, but I was very impressed with what I saw, the intention is to use it as a close combat Defiler under the current Chaos Space Marines codex and on a more random note, I realise that the Plague Hulk signals the completion of my Forge World Nurgle purchases.
Forge World's Nurgle range has been the main reason for me to get back into 40K and painting, and I hope that in the future they release more for this range or that perhaps Games Workshop follows suit and produce high quality Chaos figures with a Legion based rules set.

It has been a very GW orientated year so far and quite frankly I need a change of scenery. I was a very avid collector of Warmachine but stopped focusing on the game this year as releases slowly trickled out with MKII. However with the advent of Hordes MKII I have gathered new steam (pun intended). While the Khador army remains boxed, a whole bunch of Farrows were unboxed. Due to the limited number of units it feels like a brand new army despite having been released some time ago.
Lord Farrow is pretty much the main reason why I have come back to the Privateer fold, I was not so impressed with the War Hog (below) but with the release of a Farrow warlock, my options of fielding a full Farrow army are becoming reality.
